Banyo and surrounding suburbs are standing up to be counted. There has been plenty of activity and many people are discovering why this area is a great place to live and play. Bordered by Nudgee and Virginia, this suburb is well supported by amenties many residents have come to expect. From coffee shops to general retailers to transport and easy access to the Gateway Arterial road network. Having two golf courses close by is an added attraction to this growing area. Recent developments are facilitating the population growth and with that, better services are following. Affordabilty is still a feature and many young couples and families are choosing this area to settle in. Many of the long term residents comment about the positive changes. Banyo is approximately 10 kms from the GPO and in certain locations the city skyline can be seen. The suburb is a mix of pre-war Queenslander style homes to postwar and modern brick homes in new estates. There are train stations in the area, located at Nudgee, Banyo and Virginia. The bus runs on a regular basis and driving to and from two major shopping centres is a breeze. Boasting state and private schools, churches,the Australian Catholic University, and St. Joseph's Nudgee College, all the children's education is catered for.
